Increasing global concern to environmental issues and sustainability related preservation of non-renewable natural resources has encouraged research develop new friendly materials products based on renewable resources. Sorghum fiber potential be a composite reinforcement because it good mechanical properties, inexpensive. The preparation process sorghum is needed improve its compatibility with polypropylene (PP). Thermal alkalization the method used in conducting preparation. In this study, alkalization-thermal treatment 0%, 5% 10% NaOH pressurized steam for 1 3 minutes was carried out change hydrophobicity fiber. most optimum result obtained at concentration pressure-soaking, showing cleaner fibrillated morphology FESEM testing.
